IRIS GROUP at BIOCERAMICS32 conference in VENICE

The International Society for Ceramics in Medicine (ISCM) organized the 32nd Symposium and Annual Meeting of ISCM (Bioceramics 32) that will be held on September 20-23, 2022 in Mestre, Venice (Italy).

The conference, hosting material scientists, industrial and clinicians from all over the world, offers a unique opportunity to participate to a highly trans-disciplinary event covering the development and application of ceramic-based systems.

The mission of the conference is to highlight the key role of ceramic-based biomaterials in fostering new sectors of medicine, particularly for tissue regeneration, nanomedicine for theranostics, and new emerging topics including “Antibacterial Materials”, “Nanosafety”, “Skin Care” and “Circular Economy”.

The IRIS Group will be attended the inspiring conference presenting the most recent data obtained in the frame of the H2020 GIOTTO Project:

Prof. Chiara Vitale-Brovarone during a Keynote will offer an overview of the project and the newest obtained results; Eng. Federica Banche-Niclot will talk about the development of a novel injectable cement with anti-osteoclastogenic features useful for the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral body fractures optimized in collaboration with the Italian start-up Novaicos s.r.l.s. and the PhD student Mattia Pagani will exhibit the successful strategy adopted to graft a recombinant protein to the surface of mesoporous bioactive glasses.
