In December 2023 I obtained the Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino (cum laude), working at the Department of Applied Sciences and Technologies (DISAT) on the synthesis and characterisation of hydrophobic drug-loaded polylactic-co-glycolic acid nanoparticles for the potential treatment of myocardial infarction.
In February 2024 I started working as a research fellow at DISAT of Politecnico di Torino in the IRIS group, in the framework of the EU HORIZON REBORN project. The primary aim of my research is to investigate different strategies to obtain and optimise different controlled drug release systems for in vivo myocardial regeneration after myocardial infarction (e.g. electrospun membranes, polymeric nanoparticles and hydrogels).
From November 2024, I started my PhD program in Bioengineering and Medical Surgical Sciences (40th cycle - 2024-2027), which will focus on the development of innovative drug delivery systems at the micro and nano scale for the treatment of various anatomical districts (i.e cardiovascular, gastro-intestinal) through a regenerative approach. Currently, my research primarily focuses on the synthesis and optimization of nanoparticles and uni/co-axial electrospun membranes with modulated and controlled drug release features.
