In July 2018 I obtained the degree of Bachelor in Biotechnology at the University of Extremadura (Spain), the final degree project was based on the generation of molecular tools for the study of cell polarity. For this, I worked with different techniques of cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry and genetic engineering. In July 2019 I obtained the Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine at the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain). The final master thesis focused on the synthesis, functionalization, characterization and evaluation of mesoporous silica nanoparticles and iron oxide nanoparticles for their potential use in the treatment of bone infection and magnetofection respectively. In October 2019 I started the PhD in the Doctoral Program in Pharmacy at the Complutense University of Madrid. My research activity within the H2020 GIOTTO project focused on the fabrication, functionalization and characterization of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles and their incorporation in different devices for bone regeneration through the mechanotransduction process. I worked on the fabrication and characterization of scaffolds and in the evaluation of the biocompatibility and osteogenic differentiation of biomaterials developed with human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hBM-MSCs).

I am currently participating in the PRIN FOCAL project as a postdoctoral researcher where my research activity is focused on the functionalization and coating of optical fibers with metal oxides and biocompatible nanofibrous scaffolds to develop biosensors to facilitate early diagnosis of cancer.
